• 2015: Due to the urgent need of benchmarking the capability of laboratories in ASEAN to test LED lamps that will eventually replace incandescent or self-ballasted fluorescent lamps, the Performance Testing Laboratory in UP-NEC was assigned by the DOE to participate to this initiative of UNEP Collaborating Center for Energy Efficient Lighting, Lites Asia, and Australian Aid.
• 2015: Two personnel from the testing laboratory were trained at the Global Efficient Lighting Center in Beijing, China.
• DTI – Consumer Protection Group, requested DOE, IIEE Foundation, and MERALCO to conduct testing and participate to DTl’s information campaign regarding the usage of “Energy Saving Devices”.
The laboratory participated on the following initiatives of DOE to benchmark the capabilities and standard laboratory procedures of the laboratories supporting the Philippine Energy Labeling Program (PELP), such as:
• 2019-2020: lnterlaboratory comparison testing between DOE-LATL and IIEE Foundation Testing Laboratory
• 2023: Proficiency testing between DOE-LATL, IIEE Foundation Testing Laboratory, TUV Rheinland, and Ark Certification International Inc. to conduct testing and participate to DTl’s information campaign regarding the usage of “Energy Saving Devices”.
